What Is A Foundation?

In a broad sense, foundations are non-profit organizations designed to manage and distribute money to organizations, institutions, and people for charitable ends. Often, foundations exist to fulfill a specific purpose. For instance, a community foundation may exist to specifically raise money for charitable causes in that community.
